Line-Dried Sheets Are Aromatherapy!

Summer this year has been cooler than most, but our line-dried sheets continue to blow in the breeze. The fresh scent and softness that results from this process adds to the relaxation and rejuvenation of our guests who come to get away from life's pressures. We will continue to hang the sheets out on the line until it becomes too cold and the sheets freeze dry.

Using Cellulose Sponges

In this time of "going green", we at the Deutsche Strasse strive to use reusable products vs disposable. When cleaning our floors, sinks, tubs and toilets, we have implemented a color coding for our cleaning sponges. Pink sponges are used for the sinks, blue sponges are used for the tubs and floors and turquoise sponges are used to clean the toilets.

We also have vintage, cross-cut oak wood floors dating from the 1915 renovation of the house. A polyurethane finish has been put on these floors. The best way to wash the floors is with very hot water (no chemicals) a sponge and a little bit of what our grandparents called "elbow grease". Not only do the floors shine, but we get a good upper body workout beside beautiful floors.
